No Specific Work Location. Work conducted in Walworth County. The employer will provide, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned.

Pay: $18.15 Per Hour
Paid biweekly. The employer will provide workers' compensation insurance coverage in compliance with State law covering injury and disease arising out of and in the course of the worker's employment.

This is a full -time temporary position from June 1, 2025 through Nov. 15, 2025.
Shift/Work Days:
First Shift. Work Schedule: 6AM - 3PM
Monday through Saturday. The standard workweek is 8 hours per day Monday - Saturday is normal; however, workers may be requested to work 12+ hours per day, on federal holidays and on their Sabbath but will not be required to do so.

Experience / Qualifications:
Must have three months experience hand harvesting produce. Job requirements include exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements, and the ability to lift 75 lbs.
All applicants must intend to work the duration of the employment period: June 1, 2025 through Nov. 15, 2025.
Applicants must be able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers operating comparable operations establishing acceptable previous experience. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. All drug testing will occur after the worker begins his or her employment and is not a part of the interview process. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
GENERAL CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL CROPS: Fieldwork begins at assigned time shortly after daylight. Work may be performed during light rain and in high humidity and in temperatures ranging from 110 degrees to below 20 degrees F. Workers will perform the majority of tasks standing in the upright position and can expect to stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Some tasks, however, require workers to perform activities on their feet in stooped or crouched position for long periods of time. Workers will frequently lift weight of 75 lbs. Workers will supply their own work clothes. All the tasks in this Job Description constitute one (1) job; the employer may assign workers to different tasks on any day or to multiple tasks during the same day in the sole judgment of the employer. Workers may be required to perform work, on the farm, that is incidental to farming the crops listed in the application, such as performing hand cultivation tasks, packing, weeding or hoeing, cleaning and repairing farm buildings, grounds, cleaning and maintaining drip irrigation systems, using backpack sprayers, gardening, weeding, shrubbing, baling hay, harvesting field corn, etc. This is a very demanding and competitive business in which quality specifications must be rigorously adhered to. Sloppy work cannot and will not be tolerated.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
Crops: soy bean, sweet corn, fresh market beans, beets, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumbers, eggplant, gourds, greens, lettuce, melons, okra, onion, peas, peppers, potato and other root crops, pumpkin, apples, summer and winter squash, tomato, flowers, fall ornamentals, hay, straw, popcorn, and herbs.
Sanitation Requirements: For food and general personal safety purposes, all workers will be required and expected to follow common sanitary practices at all times. This is particularly critical when hand harvesting crops for human consumption. Employees are required to cleanse their hands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after using the bathroom and before entering the fields for harvest activities or the packing facility for packing operations.
Workers will prepare field/beds for planting by hand; plant seed by hand; transplant by hand and by machine; lay plastic by hand' weed by hand and with a hoe; Workers will hand harvest all of the crops above. Workers will irrigate, harvest seed, vegetable and flowers by hand, assist in market delivery (unpacking and handoff), Area clean up, repack all listed crops, husk seed by hand; wash by hand; do general crop maintenance (pinching & tying) by hand. Detasseling, thinning and rogueing of plants; Hand sort shelled seed, participate in end of the day clean up around farm, maintain general farm neatness and cleanliness.
Workers will perform various duties associated growing apples including pruning, thinning, harvesting and orchard maintenance.
Support jobs include bin and pallet repair and after-hours cleanup.
Farm, and Field Sanitation
All workers will be responsible for picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors and other farm sanitation duties.
Farm Equipment Operation During Field Operations: Workers will be required to operate trucks, tractors, tree shaker, mower, forklift and other farm equipment during field or packing operations as an incidental activity in the production of crops. Workers may be required to perform general maintenance and make repairs to farm equipment. Before any worker is required to operate any farm equipment, the worker will be instructed in the proper and safe operation of tractor. Workers must notify supervisor of any mechanical issues. Workers will be required to operate tractors according to instructions and in a manner, that protects the operator, other workers, trees, crops and equipment. Repeated failure to obey operating and safety instructions may result in termination. Properly licensed workers may operate employers vehicles on public roads.
Deductions:
The employer will make the following deductions from the Worker's wages: FICA taxes, Medicare, Local, State (if applicable) and Federal Income tax as required by law. Workers will be charged for the following: cash advances and repayment of loans, meals (if applicable) repayment of overpayment of wages to the worker, and any other charges expressly authorized by the Worker in writing. No deduction not required by law will be made that brings the worker's hourly earnings below the statutory federal or state minimum wage. There may be deductions that reduce your pay below the stated contract wage; but will not reduce your pay below Federal or State Minimum Wage, whichever is higher. FICA, State and Federal taxes will not be deducted from those worker's wages that are working under a temporary, agricultural visa, unless it's discovered it is required or if the worker request withholding and the employer agrees to do so as stated by the IRS.
The employer must provide housing at no cost to the those workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residence within the same day. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. Workers will buy their own groceries. Once a week the employers will offer to provide (on a voluntary basis by the workers) free transportation to assure workers access to the closest store where they can purchase groceries. In the event kitchen facilities are not available workers staying in employer housing will be provided 3 meals per day at $16.28.
Workers staying in employer housing: Workers will be provided employer owned transportation to and from work daily from the housing. Employees will be provided with an employer owned vehicle(s) to drive to and from work for errands. Daily transportation schedule will coincide with the work schedule outlined on this application, or as agreed upon between employer and employee based on seasonal demands and/or workload. If needed multiple trips will be made if needed.
a) Incoming: The Employer will not advance transportation and subsistence costs to workers for transportation to or from the place of employment. Employer will reimburse workers as outlined in the regulations the most economical cost of transportation. Employer may arrange for a worker paid charter and reimburse workers as required in the regulations.
b) Outgoing: The employer will provide or pay for return transportation for any worker that successfully completes the job order. At this time, it is not known which will occur. If there are a sufficient number of workers, the employer may arrange an employer paid charter and reimburse workers as required in the regulations for any part of the travel not covered by the charter.
If some workers chose to not take the employer paid transportation, they will only be reimbursed the transportation not covered by the arranged transportation, and daily subsistence. Employer will not provide or pay transportation for workers that are terminated or quit prior to the end of the contract.
The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any.
The employer will keep accurate and adequate records with respect to each worker's earnings and must furnish to the worker on or before each payday in one or more written wage statements.
At the time of hire, the employer must provide a worker hired to this position, copy of the work contract between the employer and the worker in a language understood by the worker as necessary or reasonable.
Anticipated Hours of Work: Workers may be requested to work 12+ hours per day depending upon the conditions in the fields and maturity of the crops but will not be required to do so. Also, the workers may be requested to work on federal holidays and on their Sabbath but will not be required to do so. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Down Time: Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employer's control. These periods can occur anytime throughout the season. Starting and ending times may vary according to weather and crop conditions. When this occurs, the employer will give workers advance notice as possible. Starting and ending times will change due to weather and crop conditions. During certain times of the season workers are required to work at night. Workers will be given as much notice as possible when changing shifts are required. Also, the workers may be requested to work on federal holidays and on their Sabbath but will not be required to do so. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. If a worker is offered and agrees to work more than the scheduled hours during the workweek, they must still report to work on their other scheduled days, unless arrangements are approved in advance with the owner or supervisor. Choosing to work longer hours during the week does not exclude you from working each scheduled work day. Not reporting for work on your scheduled work day will be counted as an unexcused absence.
