Work Site: No Specific Work Location. Work will be performed in Kenosha County. Transportation will be provided at no cost to non-local workers, from employer-provided housing to worksite. The employer agrees to provide to the non-local worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, or equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Worker will be paid weekly. Pay: $17.34 Per Hour

All deductions required by law will be made from the worker's paycheck. All workers are subject to reasonable repair cost of damage, caused beyond by normal wear and tear, may be charged to worker found to have been responsible for damage to housing, furnishings, tools and/or equipment. Workers who quit or are terminated for cause prior to completing 50% of the contract will be required to reimburse the employer for full amounts of advanced and/or reimbursed transportation and subsistence.

Duration/Usual Hours Per Week: Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week Minimum

This is a full-time temporary job from 03/10/23 to 9/11/23. Standard work week is Monday through Friday, however, Saturday work is required.

Shift/Work Days: First Shift. Monday through Saturday. Hourly work schedule: 7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.

Experience / Qualifications:

At least 3 months experience working in a production nursery. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. All drug testing will occur after the worker begins his or her employment and is not a part of the interview process. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination. Willingness to perform work described and confirm intention to work the entire season, Daily individual work assignments, crew assignments, and location of work, will be made by and at the sole discretion of the farm manager and/or farm supervisor as the needs of the farming operation dictate. Workers may be assigned a variety of duties in any given day and/or different tasks on different days. Harvesting specifications, in particular, can change from time to time during the season due to crop or market conditions, even on the same crop. Workers will be expected to conform to the specific instructions given for each day's work. The farm owner/supervisor or a designated employee will provide specific instructions and close supervision. Workers will be expected to perform their duties in a timely and proficient manner and will have close supervision to insure adherence to instruction. Work will be closely monitored and reviewed for quality.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Follow company policies, safety procedures, and work standards and follow supervisor's instructions. Workers will plant, cultivate, and harvest employer's nursery stock including inground and container trees and shrubs. Be able to do hand weed or hoe, tie plants. sew burlap and hand dig. Workers may also pot trees and shrubs, shovel soil and straightening trees. Perform general pruning and watering plants when necessary. Maintain high standard of quality of all work performed. Participate in all necessary Mariani training with relation to safety. Arrive for each workday on time and prepared, including dressed in the appropriate clothing for weather conditions.

Housing is provided at no cost to non-local workers who are not reasonably able to return the same day to their place of residence. Housing is not provided to non-workers. Employer provides separate sleeping and bathroom facilities for each gender. Employer possesses and controls premises at all times. Workers must vacate housing promptly at end of contract period or upon termination, in accordance with state law.

The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities and space for food preparation, as well as the necessary equipment, appliances (including refrigeration), cooking accessories, and dish washing facilities (e.g., adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure) that are in working condition and will be used by non-local workers to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries and/or other incidentals. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Daily transportation to/from worksite will be provided to the workers at no charge (e.g. designated daily pick-up place).

For non-commuting workers, employer pays/reimburses reasonable travel costs (transportation, daily subsistence, and lodging if applicable) from the place worker departed to the employer's place of employment. subsistence will be reimbursed at the rate of $14.00 per day without documentation and of actual expenditures, and at actual cost up to a maximum of $59.00 per day with documentation of actual expenditures. Workers who provide receipts for meals and non-alcoholic beverages in excess of will be reimbursed during the first pay periods, up to the maximum amount per 24 hour period of travel from place of recruitment to the place of employment. After worker has completed 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse worker for the cost of transportation from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. The amount of the transportation payment will be equal to the most economical and reasonable similar common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved.
