Aaron Hernandez

My success story begins in 2022 when I moved back to Wisconsin from California. Shortly after, I was hired by a logistics company to drive a non-CDL box truck with the promise of future CDL training and better pay. After a year of driving, I completed all the required company driving hours and was set to begin CDL training. I studied hard, passed all the necessary tests, and earned my CDL permit.

Unfortunately, midway through training, the company unexpectedly cut the program, leaving me stuck and unable to move forward. I was barely making enough to cover my bills and couldn’t aô€†¯ord to pay for CDL training on my own.

That’s when I heard about the WIOA Program from a friend. Within a couple of weeks, I got in touch with the program staff, who were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and supportive. They helped me through every step — from registration to approval for CDL training.

The WIOA Program was truly a life changer. After graduating from CDL training, they assisted me with updating my résumé and connecting me with local trucking companies that were hiring. Before long, I started receiving multiple job offers.

Today, I’m proud to say I’m working with a great company, earning a strong wage, and living comfortably — all thanks to the support and opportunities provided by the WIOA Program.

Angelina Gutierrez

When I found the WIOA program, I was presented with an opportunity that led me to discover my passion. I was placed in the Violent Crime Reduction department, and I quickly realized how much I cared about this work. I had the chance to work with wise and intelligent professionals who believed in me, which allowed me to develop new skills and gain experience in a field I never imagined I would love. As someone who has faced hardships in life, WIOA gave me hope. I hope my story inspires other young adults to take advantage of this incredible program and see just how much it can help them grow and succeed.
