Work will be performed in Walworth county. The employer will provide, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Worker will be paid weekly.

A worker can earn bonuses and/or wage increases based on performance and length of service with the employer, this benefit is at the sole discretion of the employer.


Duration/Usual Hours Per Week: Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week Minimum

This is a full time temporary job from April 1, 2026-December 30, 2026. Standard work week is Monday through Friday. In addition, Saturday 5 hrs. work required.


Shift/Work Days: First Shift. Workers may volunteer to work additional hours but are not required to work more than stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays.

Monday through Saturday. Hourly work schedule: 7:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.

Experience / Qualifications:

3 Months experience required. Workers must possess a valid CDL or be eligible to obtain one prior to performing driving duties and must maintain a clean driving record as required by the employer's insurance carrier and applicable law. Extensive bending over, pushing and pulling, walking, and repetitive movements. Be able to lift at least 50lbs.



Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:


Workers will operate commercial motor vehicles requiring a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to transport harvested sod, agricultural materials, equipment, and supplies between fields, storage areas, and customer delivery locations. Driving duties are an essential and regular part of the job.


Workers will load, secure, transport, and unload sod pallets and related materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, straps, and other securing devices in compliance with DOT safety regulations. Drivers will be responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining required logbooks, and ensuring vehicles are operated safely and legally at all times.


In addition to driving duties, workers will assist with sod farm operations as needed, including harvesting sod, stacking and banding pallets, field maintenance, irrigation setup, equipment cleaning, and general farm labor associated with sod production. Workers must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift and carry heavy materials, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.


The employer will provide housing at no cost to those workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residence within the same day. Housing is fully furnished with 3 bedrooms, one bath and a full kitchen.


For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in and deduct the cost of such meals no more than $16.28 per day.


For workers residing in employer provided housing, the employer offers daily transportation from the housing to the place of employment.


For applicants from outside of the normal commuting area: employer must pay/reimburse reasonable costs incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer to the place of employment, reimbursement must be made no later than 50% through the contract period. If the worker completes the work contract period, or if the employee is terminated without cause, the employer must provide or pay for the worker's transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker departed to work for the employer. Daily subsistence while traveling: Minimum $16.28 per day/Maximum $68.00 per day (with documentation of actual expenses).


The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any.


The employer will provide workers' compensation insurance coverage in compliance with State law covering injury and disease arising out of and in the course of the worker's employment.


At the time of hire, the employer must provide a worker hired to this position, copy of the work contract between the employer and the worker in a language understood by the worker as necessary or reasonable.


The employer will keep accurate and adequate records with respect to each worker's earnings and must furnish to the worker on or before each payday in one or more written wage statements.


The wage offer is $20.44 per hour. The wage offer is adjusted for H-2A workers. The wage offer for H-2A workers includes a downward adjustment of $-1.29 per hour. H-2A workers will be paid $19.15 per hour.


All deductions required by law will be made from the worker's paycheck. Social security, federal and state (if applicable) taxes will only be deducted from foreign H-2A workers upon written request. All workers are subject to reasonable repair cost of damage for the repair/replacement of tools and or equipment and the reasonable cost of negligent damage to lodging facilities and vehicles if worker is shown to have caused the shortage or damage by a dishonest or willful act. This may be charged to worker after damage has occurred and upon employees written authorization to make the deduction.


All applicants must intend to work the duration of the contract April 1, 2026-December 30, 2026.
